Privacy Policy

QR Master (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is built to be private by design. The app works entirely on your device: it does not require an account, does not send your data to any server, and does not track you. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information, in plain language.

1. Information we collect

We do not collect personal information. QR Master has no sign-up or login, no user profiles, and no analytics or advertising identifiers. We do not know who you are, and we cannot see your scans or generated codes.

The content you scan or generate, and your scan/generate history, are stored only on your device using local storage. This data never leaves your phone unless you choose to share or export it yourself.

2. Device permissions

Permissions are requested only at the moment you use a feature that needs them — never on first launch or in the background.

Camera

Used to scan QR codes with the live viewfinder. Camera frames are processed on-device and are not stored or transmitted.

Photos / media

Used only when you import a QR image from your gallery, or save a generated code to your gallery.

Location

Requested only when you tap "Use current network" (to read the connected Wi-Fi name) or "Use my location" (to read GPS coordinates for a location QR). Android requires location permission for both. We do not track or store your location.

Contacts

Requested only when you tap "Pick from contacts" while creating a contact/phone/SMS/email code, to fill in the details you select. Contacts are not uploaded or stored by us.

3. Your history & local data

When enabled, the app keeps a local history of your scans and generated codes so you can find them again. This history lives in the app's private storage on your device. You are in full control: you can favorite, search, delete individual items, clear all history, or export your history to a CSV file (and import it back). Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.

4. No accounts, servers, or tracking

  • ✓ No account or sign-in.
  • ✓ No data is uploaded to us or any third party.
  • ✓ No advertising SDKs, no analytics, no cross-app tracking.
  • ✓ Scanning and generating work fully offline.

5. Third-party services

The current version of QR Master does not include third-party analytics or advertising services. Note that scanned QR codes may contain links or actions (for example, opening a website, connecting to Wi-Fi, or starting an email) that hand off to other apps or services you choose to use; those are governed by their own privacy policies, not ours. If we introduce any third-party service in the future (such as ads), we will update this policy and disclose it clearly before it takes effect.

6. Children's privacy

QR Master is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children under 13. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone, it does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data security

Because your data stays on your device, its security is tied to your device's own protections (screen lock, encryption, and OS-level app sandboxing). We recommend keeping your device secured and up to date.

8. Your choices

You can revoke any permission at any time from your device Settings. You can turn off history, clear all history from within the app, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes affecting how the app handles data will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
